Rhetorical Awareness & Metacognition
Students will analyze how rhetorical concepts such as identity, audience, genre, and purpose shape writing and reflect on how their writing practices shift across contexts.
I will likely also reference the PowerPoint as an example since the project can be used to emphasize concepts like Identity and Audience, but I will add onto Genre and Purpose later.
The artifacts that will be referenced here are from Discussion #5 About Genre and Discussions #2 & #3, Downs. I will be looking to use the Downs essay for Identity, Audience, and Purpose, but Discussion #5 will be used to more strongly reinforce the connection between Genre and Purpose. May also reference my submission for the Unit 2 paper since I learned more about how those genres can shift across context.
